AI Setups vs Claude: do it yourself, or have it set up

Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant. On the Team plan it includes Cowork, Claude Code and Claude Tag, which brings Claude into Slack. Your own team connects the tools and writes the instructions.[1][2][3] AI Setups sets up ready-made agents for SMEs with 2 to 100 staff, adapts them to the business and shows the team how to use them, for a fixed price per agent.

In short

Pick Claude if someone on your team will connect the tools, write the instructions and keep an eye on usage, or if you mainly want a strong assistant for writing and analysis.

Pick AI Setups if you want an agent running without building it yourself, a fixed monthly price, and WhatsApp as well as Slack and email.

The main difference: with Claude you get the building blocks and do the setup and upkeep yourself. With AI Setups we set up and adapt the agent, and you pay a fixed price per agent.

What Claude is, and where it shines

Claude is a family of AI products from Anthropic. Chat covers writing, analysis and research. Cowork takes a goal and works across your files and tools, runs scheduled tasks while your laptop is closed, and has a built-in browser. Claude Code is a coding agent you steer from the terminal, an IDE, Slack or the web. Claude Tag lets anyone in a Slack channel tag @Claude to read a thread, run a task or follow standing instructions, such as a weekly digest.[2][4][6]

Where it shines is range and a low starting price. Connectors are on every plan, including Free. For small businesses Anthropic offers a Small Business plugin with ready-to-run workflows you sign off on, connectors for QuickBooks, HubSpot, Shopify, Stripe, Gusto, Canva and more, and free workshops. Team starts at $20 a seat a month and is built for teams of 2 to 150.[1][5]

What AI Setups is

AI Setups sets up ready-made AI agents for SMEs with 2 to 100 staff. We start with the Operations Agent, which answers questions about the business, writes reports and drafts routine work, and the Lead Gen Agent, which finds new B2B leads and writes personal emails every day.

We connect your systems, adapt the agent to how your business works and show your team how to use it. The agent works in Slack, WhatsApp and email, does the routine work and asks a person to approve before anything goes out. It costs €500 a month per agent, with a 3-month minimum and no setup fee.

Key differences

Who does the setup

Claude is self-serve. For Claude Tag, an Owner pairs the Slack workspace, sets a monthly spend limit, chooses the connectors and adds Claude to channels. After launch everyone in those channels can use it, with no per-user setup. The small-business route is similar: link your CRM, accounting, email and payments, install the plugin, pick what Claude handles and set a schedule. Anthropic also lists service partners for teams that want help.[2][3][5]

With AI Setups we do the setup. We connect the systems, adapt the agent to how the business works and show the team how to use it.

How you pay

Claude Team is billed per seat, at $25 a month or $20 billed annually, and includes up to $500 a month in pooled API credits. Claude Tag adds no per-seat charge: work in channels and threads draws from a usage balance an Owner funds, capped by a spend limit. Usage limits apply on every plan, and Cowork uses them faster than chat.[1][3]

AI Setups charges a fixed €500 a month per agent, with a 3-month minimum and no setup fee, so the bill does not change with how much the team asks.

Where it works

Claude runs in its own web, desktop and mobile apps, in Chrome and in Microsoft 365 and Outlook from Pro up. Claude Tag works in Slack on Team and Enterprise. Microsoft Teams support is marked as coming soon, with a waitlist.[1][2][3]

AI Setups agents work in Slack, WhatsApp and email.

Control and approval

Both put a person in charge of what matters. Claude's small-business setup sends or pays nothing without your OK by default. In Cowork, deleting anything needs your approval, and you can make Claude show its plan and wait before anything significant. Claude Tag acts under its own identity, and every use of a credential is logged.[2][4][5]

AI Setups agents do the routine work and ask a person to approve before anything goes out.

Data and hosting

On Team and Enterprise, Claude does not train on your content by default; on individual plans training is opt-out. Anthropic says its security controls are audited to SOC 2 Type II, with encryption in transit and at rest. The pricing page lists no EU data residency.[1][5]

At AI Setups, hosting and data are agreed per customer.

Example: a company with 10 staff

A 10-person company on Claude Team with standard seats billed monthly pays 10 × $25 = $250 a month, or 10 × $20 = $200 a month billed annually. Claude Tag work in Slack channels comes on top, billed by usage up to the spend limit you set. Someone in the team does the setup. Claude prices are in USD, excl. tax.[1][3]

The same company with one AI Setups agent pays €500 a month, whatever the number of tasks. With two agents, €1,000 a month. Prices excl. VAT.

When Claude is the better choice

  • You want a strong assistant for one person or a small team, from $20 a month.[1]
  • Someone on your team will connect the tools, write the channel instructions and own the spend limit in Slack.[3]
  • Your tools have a ready connector, such as QuickBooks, HubSpot, Shopify, Stripe or Gusto, and you are happy to start from the Small Business plugin and a free workshop.[5]
  • You have developers who want to build custom work themselves with Claude Code.[6]
  • You want to start today on a free plan, without a call.[1]

When AI Setups is the better choice

  • Nobody in the company has time to own the setup and upkeep.
  • You want the agent in WhatsApp as well as Slack and email.
  • You want a fixed monthly price per agent instead of seats plus usage.
  • You want a Dutch or Swedish team to adapt the agent to how you work.

Switching, or using both

You do not have to choose one for everything. Many teams keep Claude seats for writing, analysis and research, and add a set-up agent for one process that has to run the same way every day, such as the weekly report or lead follow-up.

If you started building with Claude yourself and would rather hand it over, start with the one process you rely on most. We set that agent up first; you keep your own tools and accounts.

Where we run this ourselves

We run the same agents in our own companies. The Operations Agent runs every day at Remodius, the ecommerce brand Jim runs, and the Lead Gen Agent runs our own outreach on Rasmus's tools ListFixer, MailSpot and Leadster.

Questions.

Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, sold as individual and business plans. The Team plan includes Cowork for multi-step tasks, Claude Code for coding and Claude Tag for Slack, all set up by your own team.

Claude gives you the tools and you do the setup and upkeep, paying per seat plus usage. AI Setups sets up and adapts ready-made agents for you, for a fixed €500 a month per agent.

When someone in the company will connect the tools, write the instructions and watch the spend limit, and your tools have a ready connector. For writing and analysis alone, a Pro or Team seat is often all you need.

On 31 Oct 2026 Claude's pricing page showed a Free plan, Pro at $20 a month and Team at $25 a seat a month, or $20 billed annually. Claude Tag work in Slack channels is billed by usage on top.

Yes. Your team can keep using Claude for its own work, while an AI Setups agent runs one process that has to work the same way every day.

Our agents are built on leading AI models, chosen per customer.

Today our agents work in Slack, WhatsApp and email. Claude Tag for Microsoft Teams is on a waitlist.
